To Selfish People Like Me

I'm soooo selfish. I want what I want and that's the end of it. I manipulate everything and everyone to get what i want: my parents my girlfriend, my friends, my everything!
The good thing is: I don't feel so bad about it.
Everyone's going HUH?? right now.
Let me explain.
Without Jesus I'd be freaking out. I would think that everything i do wrong separates me more and more from heaven. That would totally stink cause no matter how hard i try, it always goes south. why? cause I'm selfish! Everyone's selfish. Whenever anyone does anything wrong it's selfish.
The reason I'm not flipping out is that Jesus reverses the curse. He says "Ya know what, I died to cover you being dumb. it's OK. i forgive you. You can come in [to heaven] now. Not because of what you did but because of what i did for you."
That's why I'm not flipping out: cause Jesus isn't flipping out at me. He's not yelling at me every time i do something wrong. He says, "i died for that one too! it's OK."
BUT!!!
Only if you trust that He's the only way to heaven.
See He's perfectly just, and because we all do crap all the time, He has to be fair and judge us. He can't let sin into heaven, so that means we have to go to hell.
BUT!!
There is good news. Trust Jesus and it'll be OK. you'll go to heaven because Jesus did the Great Exchange and substituted Himself for us. Instead of us dying, He died. Then He rose from the dead so that we may have life.
Just trust Him.

To Those With No Absolute Truth

I recently had a conversation with some friends concerning absolute truth. This topic is becoming a hot one in not just Christian communities.
The pervasive belief today is this: everyone comes up with their own truth. Basically, no one's right, no one's wrong. everyone's going to heaven because hell is bad and we don't think about bad things cause bad feelings and we don't want that around. [sarcasm]
But seriously, this is a big deal. If there's no absolute truth, i'm telling you now: die. That's your greatest hope at this point.
BUT
The good news is there is absolute truth.
I'm going to be dogmatic about this. Dogmatic means that i'm willing to discuss [some would call it argue] this point.
God is absolute Truth.
Jesus is absolute Truth.
The Holy Spirit is absolute Truth.
Lots of people will say "That's just your opinion. That's just your faith. There's no way to tell if that's true or not."
To an extent, they're right. It is my faith. The question is, is it something worth putting my faith in. The answer is yes.
So much evidence puts Christianity in the position of greatest credibility. Maybe I'll blog about that later. But the point is, absolute truth is real because you shouldn't be alive if there's no way to know what's really true. Comment please!
