To Teens

Just letting you know right off the bat, i feel very strongly about this topic. The issue i have is with people my age, and a little bit younger, concerning their parents.

Teens don't love their parents anymore. Most of us will blame it on our parents for not trying to understand. I know that's not the widespread problem. The main problem is that we are soooo confusing and not transparent at all. We try to hide our feelings, likes, dislikes, and desires from our parents because we believe they don't understand. THAT'S TERRIBLE! It's terrible for a few reasons:
1] We are supposed to honor and love our parents. I don't care where your moral compass is, the Bible says this.
2] We are not honoring our parents by being secretive.
3] By not honoring our parents, we are not honoring God.
4] God made us.
5] God loves us.
6]God, as Jesus, was killed...KILLED...for us and we don't treat our parents, and ultimately God, with respect.

Bottom line: We sin when we don't honor our parents.

So how do we honor our parents?
1] Love Jesus.
By loving Jesus, we open the door to limitless possibilities. Without Jesus, we cannot properly love and honor our parents.
2] Make an effort.
Now that your focus is on Jesus, try! Try to do stuff for your parents. Offer information to them. Actively tell them how school was, what your day was like, what girls/guys you're interested in. Just love them.
3] Do stuff.
Try to do stuff for your parents. Do your chores before they get up, or before they go to bed, just to let you know that you love them.

Please friends: love God, love others, love your parents!
